I hope you read that greeting in the most backwoods, country, Mississippi grandma voice you know (“Heyyy deh”)!
As I start my blog life over on a new platform, I would like to first introduce the blog title (Living Light with Liz) by explaining what it means.
Matthew 5:14-16 says, “You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” NLT version
Everything that we experience in life, is to benefit someone else and bring praises to Father God who is the Creator and keeper of our soul. “Living Light” (not heavy) is used to describe what freedom feels like while also pouring light (in noun form) onto to others. How do we do that? By sharing our testimonies. There is no reason to be embarrassed bout trials, hardships, pain, insecurities, brokenness, or anything else. The secret is, everyone has experienced something that they feel needs to be hidden. If that thing is hidden, how can it help the next person who feels alone and misunderstood?
James 5:16 tells us, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.” KJV According to dictionary.com, a fault, as a noun, is “an unattractive or unsatisfactory feature, especially in a piece of work or in a person’s character”. Until we confess that fault, it and satan’s lies about it continues to hold us captive. God desires for you to be free. Completely free. Healing begins with truth, transparency, and vulnerability. Let’s go!
Now, the meat of this meal is: This is a space to share my experiences and encounters with Father God, Lord Jesus, and Holy Spirit with anticipation of bringing hope to others. If there comes a time you notice I haven’t posted in a while, wake me up! I’m not finished. I just fell asleep and need someone to come shake me. There is always something to share; because this is one of my gifts, the enemy TRIES to come kill, steal, and destroy it. I have committed within myself to not allow that to happen again.
